A LATE 50-BORE PERCUSSION RIFLED TARGET-PISTOL, no visible serial number,
circa 1880 and numbered for '1' of a pair, with blued octagonal 10 1/2in. barrel, narrow blind flutes along each edge, the top-flat signed 'LEFAUCHEUX A PARIS' in script, small dove-tailed fore-sight, borderline and scroll engraved colour-hardened breech-block (faded), standing notch rear-sight to the engraved top-tang, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action lock with dipped tail, en-suite hammer, walnut half-stock with fluted grip, engraved iron butt-cap with spire point, spurred trigger-guard bow, plain trigger and acanthus carved fore-end tip, no provision for ramrod, much finish remaining
